Acid Dyes
Scarlet Red 3R
A vivid red acid dye for wool, silk, and polyamide fibres.

Overview
Scarlet Red 3R is an azo acid dye giving a bright, clean red in aqueous solution. Like other acid dyes, it applies from an acidic bath and bonds to the protonated amino groups in protein and polyamide fibres, which is what gives acid dyes their characteristic brightness and level dyeing where cellulosic dyes have no affinity. It is widely used across wool, silk, and nylon dyeing, alongside paper and leather colouration.
