Fixing
Fixing Agent
Improved fixation and retention of sizing chemistry in papermaking.

Overview
Fixing Agent is a cationic polyelectrolyte solution designed to improve adsorption and retention of paper-making additives on pulp fibers. It can support retention of AKD, ASA and rosin sizing agents, helping improve sizing efficiency and reduce sizing-related deposits. Cationic polyelectrolytes used for this purpose, such as polyDADMAC, carry a permanent positive charge independent of pH, which lets them bind the dissolved and colloidal anionic material (often called anionic trash) that would otherwise consume the capacity of a mill's more expensive retention and sizing chemicals.
